The notice shall be sent via first-class mail, via email from an email address on file with the health studio, or delivered in person to Rise to Respect, LLC d/b/a Cobra Kai Martial Arts at 1091 N. Batavia St, Orange, CA 92867, info@cobrakaioc.com.

Members with an online account can also cancel immediately at My Membership with the Cancel membership button. No phone call, visit, or extra form is required.

Parties and services

This agreement is between Rise to Respect, LLC d/b/a Cobra Kai Martial Arts (1091 N. Batavia St, Orange, CA 92867, info@cobrakaioc.com, (442) 249-6420) and the member named on the account. Services and hours are the martial arts classes and schedule published at this website, currently Mon – Fri: 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM; Sat – Sun: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Training begins when the membership starts, and in all cases within six months of the agreement date. Class types and equipment may change. A substantial cut to a facility described here is a separate cancellation right under Civil Code 1812.85(c).

Automatic renewal

Month-to-month plans renew every month, and annual plans renew once each year, at the price shown on the plan until the member cancels. A single-payment plan ends on its end date and does not renew. Auto-renewal is accepted only by a separate unchecked checkbox. That acceptance is stored with the time and agreement version. The 2-week trial request on this website does not start a paid membership and does not convert to a charge unless the member later accepts a plan and the auto-renewal checkbox.

Active auto-pay members see this renewal disclosure in My Membership at least once every 12 months. The portal records the date that notice was shown.

Cancellation and pro rata refund

Civil Code 1812.85 gives five studio business days to cancel, not counting Sundays or California holidays. If the amount paid, including initiation fees, is $1,500 to $2,000, the cancel window is 20 days. It is 30 days from $2,001 to $2,500, and 45 days at $2,501 or more. The system keeps the later of those dates.

On cancellation the member pays only for the time the membership was available. The rest is refunded. Fixed-term plans are split across the start and end dates. Month-to-month plans are split across the current 30-day period, using the latest paid charge. If the member cancels inside the statutory window and has no check-in, the refund is the full amount of that base. Otherwise the refund is the unused share of the days. Staff must pay a pending refund within 10 days.

Death, disability, or a move of more than 25 miles can also end the contract under Civil Code 1812.89. Bring proof to the front desk so the same pro rata refund can be recorded.

Minors and sparring

A member under 18 needs a parent or legal guardian to accept this agreement. The guardian's name is stored with the consent record. Sparring, live drilling, and competition are optional. They are accepted only with a separate checkbox and are not required to train in non-contact classes.

This page is the working contract template for the website. It is not a law-firm opinion. Have California counsel review it before paid online signup opens.
